The ISO 14001 series are international standards for the environment, established in 1996 by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). With it, organizations (corporations, organizations, etc.) are called on to build systems for continuously improving their impact on the environment caused by activities and products as well as services. They are also required to create a plan-do-check-act (PDCA) cycle for continuously improving their system. Reduction of adverse effects on the environment (environmental burdens), expansion of beneficial effects on the environment, improvement of organizational management, and environmental business management can be expected under ISO 14001.
