Demonstration using robot automated connectors
This is a collection of demonstrations that reproduce the process of automated assembly of applications equipped with IRISO’s solution, “robot assembly compatible connectors.
As we have experience working with various robot manufacturers, we will introduce you to some specific examples.
Demonstration List
IRISO × Universal Robots × Techmake × HIOS
We are assembling a box-shaped mock-up using Universal Robots’ collaborative 6-axis articulated robots “UR series.”
The Z-Move connector 10120 series is mounted on the board. Its floating function offsets mounting misalignment to enable robot assembly.
Also, the interface is equipped with a Unit-able connector, and the Z-Move function eliminates misalignment when inserting the interface connector.
By attaching Techmake’s multifaceted robot hand and mounting HIOS’s electric screwdriver for robots on the hand, the process from board assembly to screw tightening is completely reproduced on a single robot.

IRISO × Mitsubishi × Techmake × HIOS
We use three units of Mitsubishi Electric’s RV-FR series 6-axis robots to assemble a box-shaped mock-up of high-mix low-volume products.
Not only assembly but also from workpiece supplying to screw tightening are reproduced by the robots, making a state closer to full automation.
The 10120 series is installed for the internal board connection. Its floating function offsets the mounting misalignment and completes board mating.
A Unit-able connector is used for the interface, enabling automation of high-mix low-volume products.
Using a collaborative robot in the material supplying section, we have realized a safety fence-less system. We are also implementing quality judgment and information traceability based on the sensor and driver’s output information.

We are assembling an in-vehicle camera module with ABB’s collaborative twin-arm robot “YuMi.”

By mounting HIOS’s electric screwdriver for robots on YuMi, the process from assembly to screw tightening is completely reproduced.

IRISO × Mitsubishi × Techmake
We are demonstrating how to assemble a PLC using two Mitsubishi Electric’s 6-axis robots, the “RV-FR series.”
The internal board is equipped with FPC/FFC connectors 11501 series and 11600 series, enabling FPC card insertion by robots.
In addition, the 10109 series is mounted on the mainboard connection, and the floating function offsets mounting misalignments and completes the assembly.
By attaching Techmake’s multifaceted robot hand, two functions are given to each robot. The process from assembly to work alignment in the returnable box is fully automatically reproduced.
The internal board is equipped with FPC/FFC connectors 11501 series and 11600 series, enabling FPC card insertion by robots.
